Petroc was believed to have restored sight to a dragon that lived near St Guron’s well. The story is told in the Gotha manuscript. The people were encouraged to fight with a dragon lurking on Halgavor Moor in the 16th century during the Halgavor Court Sports, recorded by Carew.
